TDDT: Why should we work?

Work is honorable. Developing the capacity to work will help you contribute to the world in which you live. It will bring you an increased sense of self-worth. It will bless you and your family, both now and in the future.

We all want to have honor. And we really want Honor in god's eyes. If makes us look good to.

12 Use boldness, but not overbearing; and also see that ye bribe all your passions, that ye may be filled with love; see that ye refrain from idleness.
-Alma 38:12
Alma is telling us that we are to be busy and do things. Even if you do not want to you must try. I think you should not rest and hang around too much but it is okay to do it on occasion. You just should not do it all the time.

27 Verily I say, men should be Anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

We should only do good work and never do bad things. It just is not right.

Proverbs 24:12

One of the blessings of work is developing self-reliance. When you are self-reliant, you use the blessings and abilities God has given you to care for yourself and your family and to find solutions for your own problems. Self-reliance does not mean that you must be able to do all things on your own. To be truly self-reliant, you must learn how to work with others and turn to the Lord for His help and strength.

I an not perfect at this, but I do what I can. I know that when you do what god wants you to do, you will be happy, always. you need to try to do this. I know that you will find happiness as you do this each day.

TDDT:Why should I do Service?

For personal Progress I had to write down all the quite acts of service that I noticed for two weeks. some of the things that I saw was...

My Mom cooks food two times a day. Or she washes our clothes. Or my Mom will give me or one of my sisters a "I love you" note. She will change the babies. She will get us our home work if we forgot it a home. She will smile at a stranger if they look sad.

My Dad goes to work every day. He will play with my little brother when he is all crazy. He will change the baby when my mom is tired. He will go to Alabama to get my grand parents. He will be awesome.

Why:
I makes people feel good. And when you serve you show charity to them.

Charity. The highest, noblest, strongest kind of love, not merely affection; the pure love of Christ. It is never used to denote alms or deeds of benevolence, although it may be a prompting motive

Which means that if you serve, you show charity, which means you are one step closer to being like Christ. Which is who we want to be like.

Our church is service oriented, because it will bring us closer to God. And make us stronger. I know that if we serve we will become closer to the people we serve and Heavenly Father. And that we will be happier.

TDDT: Why do I have to learn this stuff?

7Wisdom is‍ the principal thing; therefore‍ get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
-Proverbs 4:7
This means that if you get wisdom than you will understand the world a whole lot better.

78 Teach ye diligently and my  grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;

79 Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge‍ also of countries and of kingdoms—

80 That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify‍ the calling where unto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you.

-D&C 88:78-80

He wants us to gain as much knowledge as we can so that we can do what he needs us to do to build up the kingdom of god.

 

30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receive I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.

-2 Nephi 28:30

This means that god will give you just a little knowledge. If you embrace the knowledge then he will give you a little more.

 

My second grade teacher told me something when I was having a hard time learning how to read. She said,"There isn't a zipper in your brain for me to just open and pour a can of Knowledge in, you have to learn a little at a time." I have offend found that to be true.

 

15 And set in order the churches, and study and learn, and become acquainted with all good books, and with languages, tongues, and people.

-D&C 90:15

This means that we should gain knowledge of the different languages so that we can teach the word of god to people in different languages.

 

18 Whatever principle of  intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the Resurrection.

And if a person gains more knowledge‍ and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.

That one is very clear.

5 A wise man‍ will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
-Proverbs 1:5
Well, that one means that we need to team up with people that are smart if we have no idea what it means. If we get it we should find someone that dosen't understand.

If we gain Knowledge then I know that we will have better lives after we die. 

TDDT:Do I show all of my divine qualities?

In the primordial realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.
-Family Proclamation to the World

This means that we are all children of god so we all have divine qualities.

Some of the words in 2 Peter 1 are:
Servant, apostle, righteousness, knowledge, godliness, diligence, virtue, temperance, patience, kindness, charity.
These are all divine qualities that we should show.

23 And now I would that ye should be Humble, and be  submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

24 And see that ye have Faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.

-Alma 7:23-24

 

45 Let thy Bowles also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence‍ wax strong in the Presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distill upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.

-D&C 121:45

We can develop these qualities one by one. We can serve well and keep the commandments to develop these Divine qualities.

TDDT: How come I am Who I Am?

 What is man. that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visited him?

 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angles, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

 Thou made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things‍ under his feet:

-Psalms 8:4-6

This means that heavenly father makes us lower so that we could be exalted in the end of our lives so that there would be a reward. He knew we needed to be that way.

Before I formed‍ thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and‍ I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
-Jeremiah 1:5

This means that God made us how we are supposed to be.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love‍ one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
-John 13:34

God knew that we need to be loved sometimes. He also knew that our feelings would get in the way of love sometimes.

Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

This means that we are all important to God. And every one should be served because we are special in his eyes.

22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligence that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble‍ and great ones;

23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen‍ before thou wast born.

-Abraham 3:22-23

 

We are meant to be who we are. God matched us with the life we have now.

To Day's Message

"as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands."
-1 Nephi 2:20

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
-John 13:34

The first scripture says that if we keep his commandments then we shall have a good life. We will still have trials and persecutions. But we will be happy.
The second scripture says that loving one another is a commandment. So if we love one another then we will have a good life and be happy. Loving is a very good way to push past trials. It makes us happy.

A New Start

In a few weeks we are moving to a new home in country. It will be closer to my school. I will also have to leave all of my good friends. But I will learn to work hard and survive. I will do this because it is the best thing for me.
